I just spent the last 3 hours washing Roy (my blue ford flame car) and my dads car and just as I get to the waxing part it goes and frelling rains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God I hate the weather sometimes!

Last night, Lindsay and Howard introduced me to the best film I've watched in a long time; Strings, details here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0374248/.

I've never really been keen on puppetry type films, and was prepared to be bored, but found myself completely sucked in. I found it really interesting that the director had made a point of showing the puppeteers at the beginning, probably knowing (and intending) that their existence would be forgotten five minutes into the film. Apparently it takes 25 years to train puppeteers to the level of skill needed to operate those puppets. There was also so many little details about the world the puppets live in that are so ingenious you don't really notice them until you think about it afterwards. Overall, this film is so visually stunning and well-made, I could watch it over and over again without getting bored.

I even made icons - but they're on Howard's pc, so they have to wait for now. :)

garrymax's birthday today and we went bowling!
that is me, garry, rach, jamie, tink and russell.
we had a game which was good fun, although some kind of annoying dj guy was speaking through mike type thing and being really annoying.
second game...well...
rachael and i normally play semi serious for the first one and mess around for the second one, backwards bowling, slow as possible bowling, throw the ball as far as possible, even a cricket over-arm bowl once.
well they'd given us an alley next to a wall...so obviously i had to do a wall bouncing bowl...plus tink managed to find a really light 6 pound ball for kids! so i do some wacky bowling, backwards, through the legs, throwing the ball...fairly tame stuff.
then i do a wall bouncer, which was amusing, then i did it again and got 6 pins with it!
then i did a super slow one and it got a bit patchy...the ball got stuck...so i bowled another ball to knock it in and machine got stuck and then rachaels go came and she got told off for it!!
so my next go i do ambi dex bowling! two balls, of course they bounced off each other and i got nil!
then i do another ball sticking go and the dj guy tells us off over the mike for bowling two balls at once (not when i was, when i got one stuck again! idiot)
then i decide ok might get thrown out and ruin garrys birthday so i'll bowl less...erratically.
lose grip of ball and it bounces into lane next to us...losing the guys shot! whoops. they took it well though.*
ended pretty much there. garry won bowling twice and beat tinks at those dancing games too. good evening overall!
so how do i beat this next time?!

*though as jamie pointed out having a big skinhead looming over you and say 'sorry mate' might make some people ok with many things

Right, Mrs Ed has given me the letter "W"... which is proving tricky. I can think of songs that start with W no problem, but finding songs that I really like that start with a W....

1. I shall have to start with "When you Wish Upon a Star" by Louis Armstrong. Hardly surprising a Disney song makes it onto the list, given my predilection for cutesy animated musical film, however this one is a little different! Its one of three covers of Disney classics I have by Louis Armstrong, and out of the three it is my favourite (the others are Bibbidy-Bobbidy-Boo from Cinderella and The Bear Necessities from The Jungle Book). I quite like the song anyway (Pinocchio is not a favourite) but this version is fantastic. Wonderful trumpet solo instrumental bit in the middle, plus I love Louis Armstrong's voice.

2. Next is "Way Beyond Blue" by Catatonia which, given my tender years, I first heard when I was 10 or so. Its my favourite Catatonia track, and I much prefer the acoustic version my brother included for me on one of the many mix tapes he made me (alas the tape its on is probaly lost).

3. Keeping with the Welsh theme, "Whats New Pussycat" by Tom Jones. Not my favourite Tom Jones track by any means, but one I love enough to have as my ringtone on my mobile. Also think it would make a great track to do a Viennese Waltz to.

4. "Wasted Youth" by Meat Loaf I'll add because of the intro, with the kid and the guitar. "Stop! Wait a minute! Stop it boy! What do you think you're doing! Thats no way to treat an expensive musical instrument!". Fantastic.

5. and finally, we'll go with "When I'm 64" by the Beatles, because I love the Beatles and this is one of my favourites of their songs.

I have about 27ml of care left in me and it's about to be used up, I feel.

eugh, i am feeling so positive at the moment, it's disgusting!!

for once i am over whelmed with ideas for stuff i want to go/places i want to see, and i'm even feeling creative for once in my life,to the point where i couldn't sleep last night cause i had so many ideas running through my head. this is really unusual for me, my creativity pretty much dried up when i left school, and i've been so miserable on and off for a number of years, that really, any amount of interest in travelling etc really is unusual for me!:P

i'm not going to go over the top or anything,it's not like my life has suddenly changed, but it is a start, and hopefully will keep going in the right direction for once:)
